History
The Frozen & Refrigerated Association of the Northeast (FRANE), incorporated in 1955, is a non-profit regional trade association, representing the ever changing frozen and refrigerated industries throughout the Northeast. It remains one of the largest and most active associations in the United States and is affiliated with the National Frozen & Refrigerated Association (NFRA).
Over the years, as we looked to provide an organization that covered the needs of our entire membership, it was clear that the synergies with the other perishable and fresh foods areas of our supermarkets would complement the frozen category as sales grew and shopping habits of our consumers continued to change. In September 2002, the organization officially changed the name from the Frozen Food Association of New England (FFANE) to the Frozen & Refrigerated Association of the Northeast (FRANE).
Association Leadership and Membership
Today, the organization is guided by an Executive Committee and Board of Directors elected by the membership and representing retailers, wholesalers/distributors, manufacturers, brokers, and warehousing/transportation companies across the frozen, refrigerated and fresh foods areas of our industry.
Officers & DirectorsFRANE’s Mission
To support the frozen, refrigerated and fresh foods members of our industry by providing information, programs and forums that ultimately increase awareness and consumption of the products our members’ represent within the trade and to their final consumer. Accomplished in many ways, but always adhering to the three core principles of our organization – adding business value, educational support and giving back to the communities we serve.
